It will be a nice week of relief for all the players in the field especially coming of the US Open which was not as hard as everyone expected it was not the average US Open that everyone has come to expect the USGA took it easy on the players with rough being a lot lower than normal. What made the US Open easier also and why Rory was able to set all kinds of records was due to the rain that was received prior to the event starting.

The defending Champion this week will be Bubba Watson who last year won the event with a total of fourteen under par he is hoping to come back this week and have a better showing that what he had during the Open where it looked like his game simply left him during the second round.

The event was first established in 1952 and that year it was won by Ted Kroll who shot 273 and finished eleven under par and that was good enough to earn him a check of $2400. For the first few years it was called the Insurance City Open and throughout the years the event has changed its name but one thing that is impressive about this tournament is the players that have won it in the past. The likes of Phil Mickelson, Paul Azinger and Arnold Palmer have all won the event two times and the player with the most wins is Billy Casper he managed to win the event a total of four times and the player with the lowest score to par was sent in 1982 by Tim Norris when he shot twenty five under to win the event. The player with the lowest total aggregate for the event was set in 2009 by Kenny Perry when he shot twenty two under and shot 258 for the event.

One thing that will be a certain thing is that the players will for sure enjoy playing this week a little more and they for sure will have a little more fun and make a bunch of more birdies than what they did this past week.
