We are now down to the last four of the 2011 Davis Cup Tennis and there is no surprise to see Spain at the head of the market as they aim to win the team competition for the fifth time in their history. Spain have been the dominant force since winning for the first time in 2000 and it is hard to argue with their status as favourites with Boylesports, the Irish Bookmaker rate the Spanish  as a 5/4 shot to win the tournament which reflects the strength of their team at the moment. Such is the strength of the Spanish squad at the moment that they manged to comfortably dispatch the USA in the Quarter-Finals without needing to select their best player Rafa Nadal for the tie in Texas.

The closest opposition to the Spanish and there likely final opponents are expected to be defending Champions Serbia who with Novak Djokovic leading them will be expected to beat Argentina in their Semi-Final match up.

What people didn’t know was that it would take Texas a current 11 game winning streak to get to this point. The Seattle Mariners have been a surprise up until the last 10 games. They were a .500 team at 43-43 but they’re currently in the midst of a 9 game losing streak and fallen out of contention. They’re 11.5 games behind Texas in this 4 team division..

It’s official, the much anticipated Fedor vs Henderson fight is set to take place from the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, a suburb of Illinois on July 30th, 2011. The main Strikeforce bout was announced on Saturday featuring Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko taking on the current Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan “Hendo” Henderson in MMA odds.
