Pryor has previously already been suspended by both the NCAA and Ohio State for the initial five games of the season for illegally accepting benefits such as cash and discounted tattoos in exchange for team items. This scandal further led to the resignation of Jim Tressel the coach of the team. Tressel had also acknowledged that he knew the players were reaping improper benefits but decided to cover up for them in a period of over nine months prior to Ohio State discovering.
