Golf betting gamblers will have two tournaments to choose from this week as the EPGA Tour will feature the Barclay’s Scottish Open while in the United States, 2011 John Deere Classic odds will tee off in Silvis, Illinois from TPC Deere Run. There will be a total purse of $4,500,000 USD at stake and a total of 500 FedExCup points. PGA Tour odds will go off the board Thursday morning with the tournament being aired live on the Golf Channel or CBS television. The defending champion is Steve Stricker and bookmakers favor the University of Illinois alum in golf odds to win the title again as the betting favorite at 7/1.
Vegas sportsbooks have also listed Jason Day at 11/1 and Zach Johnson at 18/1 with Charles Howell III and David Toms as 20/1 golf betting favorites to win this weekend at TPC Deere Run in Illinois. Jonathan Byrd has been listed at 22/1 with Stewart Cink at 25/1 and Louis Oosthuizen at 28/1 to round out the top choices in 2011 John Deere Classic odds to win. Stricker will take the course on Thursday in Illinois as the favorite to repeat ranked #12 in the world having won the Memorial Tournament this year and finishing T4 in both the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the Shell Houston Open. Stricker has made the cut 11-times for 11-tournaments this year finishing in the top-10 a total of 4-times with 9-top 25 showings. Heading into golf odds for this week at the John Deere Classic as the favorite, Stricker maintains a 69.45 scoring average and 65.43% driving accuracy.
Jason Day is the second choice to win as an 11/1 favorite ranked #15 in the world with 1,141-FedExCup points. The Australian has made 11-cuts this year from 13-tournaments with 7-top ten and 8-top 25 finishes. The 24-year old has had an impressive season with a T2 result at the Masters, a 2nd place finish at the U.S. Open and a 5th place result at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Zach Johnson is the third golf betting choice in 2011 John Deere Classic odds having made 13-cuts in 15-tournaments with only 2-top ten and 7-top 25 finishes. Entering golf betting odds for this week as one of the top three choices, Johnson has a 70.57% driving accuracy for an average of 274.1-yards. With many of the top players testing their skills in Scotland, Stricker looks to be a safe wager to retain the title as a 7/1 favorite.

Italian Edoardo Molinari came out of nowhere last season to win the Scottish Open but has been listed as a 66/1 longshot to repeat as champion this year. Matt Kuchar has been listed at 20/1 with Retief Goosen rounding out the top choices at 22/1. Westwood will enter Barclays Scottish Open odds as the favorite having made 7 out of 7 cuts this season on the PGA Tour with a T3 finish at the U.S. Open and a T11 at the Masters.
