It is never too early to start studying our 2012 NBA Championship Title odds and forming our basketball predictions while last season is still fresh in our memories. Miami was not able to cash in on their betting odds this season, but the Heat is already listed as a 5-2 NBA picks favorite to win the 2012 NBA Title. With the Big Three providing the most dangerous core in the NBA, Pat Riley is going to have to not only reshuffle some pieces and bring in some key shooters to surround Wade and James, he will also have to mentor the Miami stars, mainly LeBron James, so that they understand the type of urgency and expectations that their city holds for them.
There are a few teams from this year’s playoffs that we have to assume will be back next year. A lot of people are discounting the Lakers because of the coaching change, but I believe Mike Brown will lead Los Angeles to the Western Conference Finals, as they will challenge the Dallas Mavericks next year and try to do what Dallas did to them this year. The NBA championship odds at Bodog.com have the Los Angeles listed as an 11-2 favorite to win next year’s title, and I believe that will be the match-up. I expect the Lakers to beat the Heat in the 2012 NBA Finals, and although Mike Brown will get this team back on track through a defensive mindset, his key offensive pieces will return back to their efficient ways and prove to be too lengthy for the Heat to defend.
The Dallas Mavericks will open up their title defense as 10-1 odds to repeat, and I believe that is completely fair. The Mavericks are a bit older than most of the teams in the league and aside from the Lakers, one of the other teams that will challenge them in the West will be Oklahoma City (8-1). In the East, we can’t discount the Chicago Bulls, who finished as the best team in the NBA during the regular season. The Bulls are listed as a 6-1 favorite in the East behind Miami, but I believe this is one of the teams that will take a step back before they become an elite contender again. PreGame Sports Service will carry you through the offseason, so keep up with their NBA picks to win next year’s title.
